Wearing good lingerie not only makes you look good but it makes you feel amazing, too. But a lot of times buying lingerie can be a little intimidating. There are a variety of fabrics, styles and cuts to choose from. So, how does one make a suitable choice in a sea of great-looking lingerie? While this might not be a full-fledged guide to buying your undergarments, these few essential Do’s and Don’ts will help make your experience of buying lingerie a tad bit easier.

1.Don’t use the phrase, “No one else can see it, just me. So it does not matter”

Do not underestimate the power of good lingerie. Even if no one else can see it, well-fitted lingerie can do so much for the clothes you’re wearing. Eg: a sexy bralette can amp up the glam on a v-neck t-shirt or seamless panties and bodycon dresses cannot do without each other. Your undergarments not only define the structure of your clothes, it also helps you feel more confident and sexy.

2. Don’t limit yourself to neutral shades

Just like we buy our basic tees and jeans, our first instinct is to also pick out the nudes, blacks, and whites for our lingerie. Why not push the bar a little and experiment with pinks, red or even olive green? If you’re a strict neutral babe, we suggest sliding into the colour zone slowly with blush pinks, baby blues or even mauves.

3. Don’t hold back the bucks

Don’t hold back on buying good quality lingerie. If you compromise and buy lingerie that is not of the best quality, chances are that it might lose its texture or get frayed very quickly.

1. Look for good quality fabrics

Do not compromise on the quality of your lingerie. Considering that lingerie is almost like second skin, you need to make sure that you closely assess the quality of the garments you buy. Bad quality cottons, silks etc can have a short shelf life.

2. Hand wash your lingerie

The rough tumbles of a washer-dryer are not the ideal place for your delicate lingerie. Always handwash your bralettes, lace panties and other undergarments that you consider delicate.

3. Be true to your style

Just because you saw Gigi Hadid wear a particular lingerie set in a magazine, it does not necessarily mean that the lingerie set is ideal for everyone. One of the most important things to keep in mind while picking out lingerie is your level of comfort. You might be most comfy in a thong, others in women’s boxers-always remember that it’s all about what makes you happy.
