The Padmavati controversy just got a lot uglier as a dead body of a youth was found hanging off the parapet of the famous Nahargarh fort in Jaipur. Seen in the film Rang De Basanti, Nahargarh happens to be one of the most popular tourist spots in Rajasthan. Naturally, the locals didn’t want the gruesome view to be witnessed by the tourists and the police was informed immediately.
The death of the youth is being linked to the ongoing protest against Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmavati as charcoal graffiti on the wall next to the body reads, “Padmavati, we don’t burn effigies, we hang them.”
It’s not clear whether it was a murder or a suicide and the investigations are on. But the man has been identified as Chetan Kumar, a resident of Jaipur.
As we all know, due to the constant protests by the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, the release of the film (which was originally supposed to happen on December 1st) has been pushed indefinitely.
