Whether it was about reimagining the wild American terrain or using photography of Andy Warhol as print, creativity knew no bound on day 2 of New York Fashion Week. The designers showcased their imagination for Spring/ Summer 2018 in their own unique way and mesmerised us with interesting silhouettes. Here are our favourites from day 2 at NYFW :
1. Sachin & Babi
The textile spoke the journey through Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. The rich colours, glamorous silhouettes and statement earrings played their part very well in the showcase.
2. Desigual
Jean-Paul Goude presented his first collection of Desigual at NYFW, and his graphic background was clearly visible. The show was a whimsical display of summer separates put together with some badass accessories.
3. Brock Collection
The leaf-covered ramp set the mood for the forest-themed show, but the subtlety of the lace, though expected, worked well with the theme. They are known for their flirty feminine silhouette, and they managed to deliver the summer romance mood again.
4. Noon By Noor
Easy-breezy silhouettes graced the ramp in colours of white, black, red and pink. The well-tailored monochrome ensembles were styled with structured slings in a very editorial way.
5. Tadashi Shoji
Tadashi Shoji‘s signature dresses are always spell-bounding, and he did not disappoint with his dreamy lineup. The celestial inspiration came through the intricate embroidery details on the elegant gown.
6. Creatures Of Comfort
We spotted the most comfortable and summer essential textile at the Creatures Of Comfort showcase—Hakoba fabric. True to their name, the silhouettes were very easy and oh-so-chic!
7. Cinq à Sept
Off-the-runway presentation ensured the dramatics, but even the outfits played their spectacular parts. The dreamy silhouettes had a touch of whimsy to it.
8. Supima
Sustainable fashion took a supreme vision with Supima’s collection. Reimagining cotton in a really cool way, we saw silhouettes cut from the fabric in a way we had never seen before.
9. Adam Selman
The papers were an ode to the American terrains, and the floaty garments just gave the feels of being in a windy area. Denim-on-denim might have been his cool move but we loved the sheer pants too!
10. Calvin Klein
An explosion of fringe and colours were clearly evident in Calvin Klein’s showcase, but Raf Simon also added Andy Warhol‘s iconic photos as prints! He tried to successfully present the beauty of horror through blood stain prints and use of different textiles.
