Last week, Rishi Kapoor gave his typical more-than-honest interview on Neha Dhupia‘s podcast, #NoFilterNeha. He spoke at length about several topics, including two of the biggest flops in Ranbir Kapoor‘s career – Bombay Velvet & Jagga Jasoos.
Kapoor Sr. blamed the directors – Anurag Basu & Anurag Kashyap for the films’ demise. This was not the first time he took to calling out the directors after a film’s failure and definitely not the first time he unapologetically made his opinion known to the world. Unfortunately enough, trouble seems to follow him everywhere.
However, Anurag Basu is unfazed by the senior actor’s complaints. At the launch of his show Super Dancer 2, he took it lightly and pointed out that at least now people know that he and Anurag Kashyap are two different people.
He also said that Amitabh Bachchan loved Jagga Jasoos, and he is okay with the mixed reactions of the audience.
One superstar (Amitabh Bachchan) liked it and the other (Rishi Kapoor) didn’t. I am okay with it and have no regrets as my audience were children.
We can all learn a thing or two here from Basu about taking criticism in our stride.
