Pink was one of the most critically acclaimed movies last year, one of the few Bollywood movies which explored the importance of feminism, consent and the double standards Indian women have to face on a regular basis. Amitabh Bachchan, who played a pivotal role in the film had written an open letter to his granddaughters Navya Naveli Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan, which was lauded by many but also criticized by few as it looked like a marketing ploy for the film.
On the occasion of the the movie’s first anniversary, Mr. Bachchan tweeted this photo –
T 2549 – The team of ‘PINK’ .. all in one frame .. and .. ALL, independent, individual .. NATIONAL AWARD WINNERS !!? pic.twitter.com/uQV55nUQsO

The celebratory photo of the movie which celebrates women empowerment, had no women. The irony wasn’t lost on Twitter either –
Looks like a sausage fest.. pic.twitter.com/tRG4eydBYd

Not the entire team of PINK. The three female protagonists- they would make it a TEAM.

Lesson: pointing out that a women’s empowerment movie has an all-male team REALLY pisses off men on the internet. So do it more often!
