In one of her recent tell-all interviews, Kangana Ranaut mentioned that during her legal tussle with Hrithik Roshan, she seeked help from the Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW). She approached the organisation for help when Roshan allegedly threatened to circulate her objectionable images, but was turned down by them.
According to Kangana, the MSCW initially showed interest due to the high profile nature of the case, but later backed out due to the powerful position held by the opposite party – Hrithik and his father Rakesh Roshan. She further accused the members of the women’s committee for being “saleable hypocrites”.
Gurpreet Kaur Chadha, who Kangana said belonged to the MSCW, has now lashed out against her, denying all the accusations. To begin with, she has no association whatsoever with the MSCW. She was the former general secretary for Mumbai Regional Mahila Congress (MRMC), and has not even been active for the past year. She reportedly said that she never intimidated Kangana about the Roshans’ power status, unlike what she said.
In an elaborate interview with Mid-Day, she said:
Kangana and (her sister) Rangoli wanted to amicably sort out the issue and reached out to me because Rakesh ji is like family. When I connected with him, he said he’d be willing to communicate only if Kangana apologised. When I told Rangoli about this, she said, “The case is with the Cyber Crime Cell; they will pursue it.” There was no further communication with them. Rangoli stopped answering my calls.
She further said that:
Kangana owes me an apology. I will send her a notice. I could even sue her for defamation but I wouldn’t do that to another woman.
Furthermore, the president of both the women’s associations – Vijaya Rahatkar & Sheetal Mahatra – denied being approached for help by Kangana and have no information about the case.
