After the many trials and tribulations faced by the “progressive” team of Bollywood filmmakers at the hands of the sanskari CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani – good times are finally here. There were several speculations about Mr. Nihalani being replaced due to the objections and criticism being faced by him from the audience and filmmakers.
According to some reports, lyricist Prasoon Joshi has replaced him as the new CBFC chief. He is popular for his songs in films like Taare Zameen Par and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He has twice won the National Award for best lyrics and also received the Padma Shree in 2015 for his immense contribution in the field of Arts, Advertising and Literature. It’s great to have a fresh face & a comparatively younger face to represent the board now. The industry was done with a regressive mindset, dilapidated values and unnecessary chopping.
