Bollywood has long had a history with stories that revolve around boy-meets-girl, convinces/stalks her to the point that she falls in love with him – and mostly there is a happy ending. Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor‘s upcoming film, Half Girlfriend explores a similar territory – except that the female protagonist clearly tells the hero that she can’t be his girlfriend. However, she can be his “half girlfriend” instead! What’s that? According to the film, a half girlfriend is “dost se yada, girlfriend se kam.”
So here are a few Bollywood movies where the the heroine has been more than a friend, but less than a girlfriend to the hero. Some have the typical Bollywood happy ending, and some don’t.
