Earlier this week, Abhay Deol brought the much needed debate about fairness creams to the forefront. He took to Facebook to slam celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, and ShahRukh Khan for endorsing them and promoting a false notion of beauty to the public. Sonam and him even had a dramatic Twitter chat but she deleted her tweets soon after. While the celebrities in question haven’t responded to Abhay yet, Uday Chopra seemed to think there’s nothing wrong with it.
It’s 2019 people let’s be happy we still have internet and we can at least say things that are monitored but seemingly positively.

What is this nonsense with fairness creams. If fairness creams are racist then so is hair color. It’s a personal choice! #NotRacist

On fairness creams. If you need to use it, do it. It’s not a race issue, it’s a self esteem issue. Don’t do it if you think you are fine!

It’s rather surprising to see someone educated come forth and say they see nothing wrong with fairness creams. No? What are your thoughts?
