Harshvardhan Kapoor recently made his disappointment about not winning the Filmfare award for best male debutant quite public. Harshvardhan lost out to Diljit Dosanjh, who won the award for Udta Punjab, and said that he was more deserving as Diljit has already done a lot of Punjabi films, and isn’t really a newcomer.
Just as we were wrapping our heads around this, ace choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant also accused Filmfare of unjust nominations. Vaibhavi was nominated for Nashe Si Chadh Gayi from Befikre, but the other song she choreographed – Jag Ghoomeya from Sultan was credited to Salman Khan. While the famous hook step of the song was indeed Salman’s idea, the choreographer reportedly feels it is unfair to make the whole step about one song.
She took to Twitter to post her disappointment:
According to a popular daily, she even walked out of the event when Salman’s name was announced during the nominations as she was upset with the organisers for their choice of nominations.
Hmm, what are your thoughts about this?
