I’ve got to confess, ever since I got bitten by the hair-colour bug back in 2013, I’ve been just a tad bit addicted. Having said that I’m also one of those fashion and beauty bugs who just about manages an average of 2 visits to the salon in a year… Oh the shame.. I know! *sigh*. My last cut and colour was all the way back in June 2016, so I wanted to go for something fresh for the new year! I decided to cut my elbow length hair till just a little below my shoulders and asked leading hair stylist, Gourav Bhardwaj (Style Director, LOOKS Salon New Delhi) to give me a flirty and girly cut that would grow out well along with a new colour – a lighter, rose gold balayage (that I’ve been yearning to try since it became all the rage on Pinterest last year!).
Ambiance:
I went to the branch in DLF Promenade Mall (Vasant Kunj) in New Delhi so I expected nothing less than the hustin’ bustlin’ energy that only mall rats, like yours’ truly, radiate. The salon is well lit, but a tad bit cramped because it’s meant to accommodate at least 12-13 customers at a time. The service at the salon is great and very cheerful and warm. The music is upbeat, there’s soft whispers of friendly chatter between the other customers and their stylists and good vibes all around.
Cleanliness:
Tools and brushes are cleaned with a sterilizer after every use.

Yes, most definitely! I’m absolutely going to recommend Gourav and LOOKS Salon to all of my friends, guys and girls, for a fun, smooth and hassle-free salon experience. It’s my new years resolution to come back in 6-8 weeks for a Keratase treatment, or a colour touch up and a trim… Or maybe club that with a fun mother-daughter mani-pedi day!

Final Verdict:
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Gourav, who I think is one of the best in business, made sure to stick to the strict brief I had given him. Also since rose gold isn’t all too popular a colour, he and the team at LOOKS Vasant Kunj combined various shades and worked around the clock (3 hours to be exact!) to ensure that i got just the right hue of not-quite-copper-and-red on my new do, which, when finished was EXACTLY what I wanted. There was never a moment of boredom and I was surprised at how the time flew and I’d credit that to the great and happy energy at the salon. I left feeling rejuvinated and couldn’t wait to show off my new balayage to my colleagues and besties. A week and two washes in and my style and colour looks just as good! I love it! Definitely plan to visit this place if you’re looking to give yourself a new look and are keen to experiment with some creative colour.

No matter how many times you go in for a makeover, whether its a hair cut or a new colour, it’s always a pretty nerve-racking experience. It is, after all, a long-time commitment. So it’s such a huge bonus when your stylist takes the time to understand what you want and asks you questions, shows you pictures and also gives his/her professional advise on what’s new and good in the wonderful world of hair care and beauty. Which is what i liked best about my LOOKS Salon experience.
