We asked award winning hairstylist and Brand Ambassador for Ikonic Professional, Gourav Bhardwaj, to share his expert tips to help you take some of our favourite and trendiest cuts to the next level.
So guys, pick your new hair inspo below:
The Slicked Back Undercut
Gourav’s Tip: For a perfect slicked back undercut ask your stylist to isolate the top section as per the shape of your head. To get Brad Pitt’s classy look make it a point to mention that the fade must go from short to long.
The Modern Cowlick
Ask your stylist to texturise it well on the top area to give an oldschool cowlick a modern upgrade.
The Shag
For perfect shag look what’s key is to go to a good barber. And ask him/her to frame it well from the front and NOT keep it long on the sides to avoid the cut from looking too feminine.
The Sidesweep
Ask your stylist to add lottttt of layers and some product to exaggerate these layers.
The Crew Cut
The perfect crew cut has to be done with pateience and precession… So try to visit your barber on a lean day or when he doesn’t have many appointments so that he can work precisely.
The Fade
Again the key here is to go to a skilled stylist who’s familiar with the fade cut. That’s half the job done right for this one.
The Buzz Cut
Ask your stylist to NOT create strong lines around the hair line instead try to keep the buzz along your natural one.
The Smart Look
Ask your stylist to give you a very balanced medium length cut. This added length will give you freedom to play around with the partings.
The Neymar
Neymar’s cut essentially is quite simple – short on side & back and long on the top. To give it that extra lift, ask your stylist to recommend an appropriate product for your hair type so that it can hold and add the needed texture to your hair style.
The Preppy
Ask your stylist to create a round shape for this cut and to style it with enough hair gel. Gel will add lift and give you the perfect hold for this look.
The Pomp
For this gravity-defying hairstyle ask your stylist to texturise it close to scalp as this will help you hold the hair for a longer time. And finish off with a clay based hair wax.
The Spiked Cut
Since a spiked cut is all about blending and balancing, ask your stylist to do exactly that – blend it well, style it and than cut it to balance it off.
The Long Fringe
For this grungy style ask your stylist to keep it long enough on the top area so that it can cover your forehead. This hairstyle works amazingly on wavy to curly hair.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match these styles.
