Gosh, how time flies! It seems like it was just a few months ago that we were all on the awards season juggernaut and now, another one is upon us. We already had the Star Screen Awards a couple of weeks ago and on Monday night, it was the Stardust Awards. Here’s our edit of the best dressed men from the night.
Angad Bedi
Amidst the swarm of suited-up men, Angad Bedi stood out like a phoenix for his ensemble of bandhgala and breeches. The poster boy for desi elegance!
Sooraj Pancholi
Shoes make or break an outfit, and that has been the case with Sooraj Pancholi’s look at the Stardust Awards. While the bespoke Mayyur Girotra dinner suit sure made for striking visuals, but it was those incredible pair of patent brogues from Tod’s that made this look worth a second look.
Anil Kapoor
Can any best dressed compilation of red carpet looks ever be complete without Anil Kapoor? Dapper as always, but I wished the trousers were a little more tapered to go with his vernal disposition.
Sushant Singh Rajput
We recently brought to your notice the new stylish Sushant Singh Rajput and it was more of the same at the Stardust Awards. He wore a shawl-collar dinner suit in an eye-catching shade of blue from Canali’s Autumn/Winter’16 collection with patent double monks from O’Keeffe. Smooth!
Ranbir Kapoor
Look to Tom Ford for the last word in dapper evening style and this is exactly what Ranbir Kapoor did. He went for a charcoal windowpane suit, teaming it with a solid black tie, a crisp white shirt, a polka-dot pocket square (all from TF) and a pair of bad-ass Chelsea boots from Tod’s. Note how the width of the tie and the jacket lapels are in sync — guys, these are the sort of attention to detail that separates the wheat from the chaff when it comes to menswear, so keep it in mind.
Jim Sarbh
It’s SO good to have the inclusion of the utterly intriguing Jim Sarbh this award season! Here, he upended red carpet conventions by turning up in a tee and a soft jersey number — but he sure did it in style. The retro-inspired red tie pattern unstructured suit from Gucci’s Autumn/Winter’16 collection was a quirky choice, but the effect, somehow, was polished and modern. Were the footwear a little less flamboyant, this sure would have been my favourite look of the night.
Harshvardhan Kapoor
But now, that distinction goes to Harshvardhan Kapoor’s ensemble, which had me at the lush burgundy hue of the jacket. I love how he kept the silhouette trim and streamlined, letting the gorgeous jacquard jacket from Ermenegildo Zegna’s autumn/winter’16 collection be the main focus. A style legend in the making!
