It was a chilly winter evening in Delhi. Lucky for me and my crew, we had the adrenaline and the anticipation of a very good looking runway show to keep us warm.

The 12th edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour featuring Style Blenders of the night – Shantanu & Nikhil and Rajesh Pratap Singh – gave us the exclusive chance to taste life in style. The designers delivered a high energy fashion show, set to the soundtrack of a special musical collaboration between techno producer Grain and reputed vocalists, Monica Dogra and Curtain Blue. Made all the more stylish by dazzling appearances by showstoppers, Sonam Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor. Just what we needed to get our jam packed weekend off to a fashionable start!

Just in case you weren’t following our live updates, here’s what you missed:

1.Talk about #BroGoals

Right before the show started, I got to catch up with the super suave duo, Shantunu & Nikhil. Dapper as ever (and so calm!), they gave me the low-down on what to expect and the hot trend for next year!

2. Multiple Reflections Of Style

Shantanu & Nikhil started the showcase with a collection that transitioned cheekily from long gowns in jewel tones to Spanish matador inspired fitted styles. And as promised, they had a tonne in store for the boys too.

3. Showstopper Sonam Kapoor

Fashion IT girl, Sonam, gracefully glided across the runway in a black and gold two piece embroidered stunner to close this gorgeous segment.

4. Style Beats

Grain feat. Monica Dogra, Curtain Blue, D. Club and Ankur Tiwari

The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour had few fun surprises in store for us. Like when acapella beats masters, D. Club and guitarist Ankur Tiwari emerged from the crowd, instruments (and fancy headgear) in tow to join Monica Dogra and Grain on stage for the much awaited musical part of the evening. Minutes later, Curtain Blue jumped in as well, and delivered a memorable performance with his signature haunting vocals.

5. Lesson In Layering

The lights dimmed once more. It was time for Rajesh Pratap Singh’s showcase to take the stage. Preppy and well-layered, the collection featured fitted blazers, stripes and polka dotted button downs, with the ladies in Mary Janes and guys in boots looking all kinds of dapper. Quoting the ace designer’s words, “The collection blends traditional American university look with the modern Indian outlook. It plays with beautiful contrasts, encompassing the hi-tech with the low-tech, the opaque with the sheer, and the structured with the fluid. Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, with its core theme as multiple reflections of style is the perfect association.”

6. Showstopper Aditya Roy Kapoor

Aditya Roy Kapoor sauntered and brought the show to a righteous end in a blazer and loosely fitted pleated pants. He flashed his pearly whites and right on cue, some ladies behind us squealed and gasped.

Just when we thought that it ended all too soon, I was happily reminded that #BPFT will be heading to Mumbai this weekend!

Featuring super quirky styles by Manish Arora, with music by MIDIval Punditz and Raghu Dixit (yessssss!), this bespoke fashion tour continues to keep the world guessing. I can’t wait for another EPIC night out!
