Ranveer Singh’s befikre sense of style has never excited me but the other ladies over at MissMalini HQ absolutely adore him for that. But hell must have frozen over ‘cos I’m thoroughly loving the outfits he has been wearing the past couple of weeks, all of which were high on youthful attitude but still decidedly smart.
It all started with the You & Me song launch, for which he turned up in an indigo slim-fit Paul Smith suit with a patterned orange-red T-shirt from the Kenzo x H&M collection underneath it.
Box-fresh minimalist white lo-tops from adidas Originals balanced out the graphic giddiness above — a move that seemed both assured and measured. Major love!
Next came yet another spiffy graphic number: a woollen double-breasted suit with shaded stripes from Canali’s Autumn/Winter’15 collection. One of the indisputable laws in the men’s style firmament is that if the suit is shouting, the rest of the outfit should be whispering. Ranveer abided by this law for the Befikre promotions in Bradford and in so doing, got himself yet another winning look.
The dull British winter must have gotten the better of his ever bright state of mind, ‘cos he stuck to the grey colour scheme for the next leg of Befikre promotions in the UK.
The centrepiece of the outfit was a duffle coat — a big Autumn/Winter’16 trend! — which he teamed with a cashmere sweater and wool-mix trousers, all from Burberry. Now this is how you ace cold weather dressing, guys!
But he dialled back to the blue end of the colour wheel once he returned to India — and how!
For Befikre promotions on The Kapil Sharma Show he kept things polished but lively, opting for a navy suit from Arjun Kilachand Homme and a burgundy knitwear.
Pristine white adidas Originals Stan Smiths wonderfully rounded off this look. If there is a better argument for well-fitted minimalism, we’re not sure what it is. This is a damn good smart casual look. Feel free to copy it every chance you get, guys!
Then on his return to Mumbai yesterday after Befikre promotions in Delhi he went the dapper route once again, throwing on an elegant trench coat from Burberry over a basic black tee and comfy grey trousers. Black Chelsea boots provided instant rockstar style to this distinguished outfit.
Blue seems to be his colour of choice for the Befikre press junket ‘cos he was seen in yet another navy suit. This one — Paul Smith’s Autumn/Winter’16 collection — had a couple of baby-pink vertical stripes running the length of the outfit, giving his look an instant visual intrigue. A white T-shirt from Abhishek Paatni and a pair of adidas Originals sneakers completed this highly graphic ensemble.

SO, of the six looks, which one was your favourite? Ours have to be the one at the Paul Smith + Kenzo x H&M one — it was the sneakers that nicked it.
