An old friend once told me she made a huge mistake by making one of her social media accounts public. Very soon after stepping into this new territory, she became the recipient of an unsolicited dick picture. Imagine being a celebrity then, in this big bad world which has thick skinned perverts in abundance.
Enter Priya Malik, she takes no shit whatsoever and shuts down dick pic senders #LikeABoss. Rightly so, as she told Buzzfeed:
When you name and shame an abuser who invaded your personal space, you’re taking the power back from them. When was the last time being a quiet victim helped?

What is this obsession with dicks, penises and breasts and publicly offering them? Beyond me, TBH.
And why does our society still attach a stigma of sorts with nipples, penis and breasts, which are perhaps as normal as any other body part?

Kudos to Malik for not letting this sit quietly in her ‘Others’ folder or passively let her list of ‘Blocked’ contacts grow longer. We all have a thing or two to learn from her here. Maybe they finally learn a lesson in basic social media ethics?
