We loved doing our Bollywood backstories special on our Saavn show, Bollywood+ with MissMalini, so much that we had to do a part two – just to get you even more stories. We spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kangana Ranaut, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Farah Khan and Boman Irani to get all the details on their journey.
Here’s a recap for you:
1. Aditi Rao Hydari once said no to a film because she had exams
2. Sushant Singh Rajput used to get paid Rs. 200 per show when he did theatre
3. Kangana Ranaut couldn’t afford a brownie
She told us: “When I was in Delhi, I was living with a friend who used to work at Pepsi. I was literally living with her. She was taking care of my expenses. So I remember going for this meeting in a coffee shop and I was really young, like 16, 17 – so I used to have this crazy hunger. And I saw chocolate cakes. But when you go for these meetings, you have to pay for yourself. I remember waiting for this guy who I was supposed to hand over my portfolio to, and I was looking at these big chocolate brownies and thinking – the day I make it, I’m going to eat a big brownie. That day hasn’t come yet. Because you don’t eat brownies when you become a star!”
She also said her journey in general was pretty miserable. You can get all the details on the show.
4. Nawazuddin Siddiqui worked as a watchman before becoming a Bollywood actor
5. Boman Irani and Farah Khan used to be waiters
Tune in right away to Saavn for the FULL details on all of these!
