Remember Chandrachur Singh? For some reason, I always do. The dude has vanished from the big screen and last I heard, he was doing roles in television shows. But there was a time he was cast in pretty big projects like Josh and Kya Kehna. Not just that, Chandrachur was very close to getting a role in Karan Johar‘s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!
On Neha Dhupia‘s Saavn podcast – #NoFilterNeha, Karan revealed that he was offered the role of Aman, which was later played to perfection by Salman Khan. While casting for the film, Karan was finding it very difficult to get an actor to play a second lead to Shah Rukh Khan, that’s when he approached Chandrachur, but the actor took too long to give an answer and finally, after making Karan travel from Malabar Hill to Andheri West (which takes A LOT of time), he rejected the offer.
Salman then came to Karan’s rescue after he read the first half of the movie, the part where he didn’t even have anything to do. Imagine how different Chandrachur’s career would have been had he done Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?
