It looks like actress and ex-Bigg Boss contestant Sana Khan‘s boyfriend is in legal trouble. Ismail Khan, who is a flat owner in a housing society in Andheri (West) has been accused of illegally setting up at least six CCTV cameras in the building premises, without permission from the police or the housing society. In a Mumbai Mirror report, Ismail maintains that the CCTV cameras were installed around 9 years ago to ensure his personal safety. The said cameras are separate from the ones already set up in the building.
These ones were installed at the main gate, on the corners of the building, the lift lobby on the ground floor and one right outside his door. Ismail did this because his car was allegedly attacked and these personal cameras were put up for his personal safety.
The society claims that they never gave him the permission to set up the cameras in the first place and they’ve now have made a police complaint saying that women have been feeling as if they were being monitored. In a statement to the paper, here’s what a lady from the building said –
In the past, the cameras did not bother us too much but when he made some alterations to his flat that flouted the BMC regulations, we approached the BMC. When he found out that we had complained, he tried to threaten us and from his conversations, we realized that he had been monitoring our movements. Then we decided to lodge a complaint.
Filmmaker and activist Ashok Pandit who is a part of the society has written to the police about it –
The ladies in our building have become conscious of what they are wearing and doing. Khan had applied for permission back in 2007 and despite our denying him, he went ahead and installed cameras.
Ismail has earlier been arrested for molesting a woman, in 2014.
