Earlier today, we told you about Farhan Akhtar‘s sweet wish for his sister, Zoya Akhtar on Raksha Bandhan. Bollywood couple, Ajay Devgn–Kajol also took to Instagram to celebrate the festival. And of course, our TV celebs are also celebrating the festival with much fervour.
Check out what is playing on the minds of these telly town stars on the special day:
- Divyanka Tripathi-Aishwarya Tripathi
The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress shares some special memories with her kid brother, Aishwarya. He has recently landed himself a job in an airlines company and Divyanka is a proud sister! She said:
My brother was brought up by three mothers – my mom, my sister and myself. My brother sent me a gift via courier from his first salary. That has been the best Raksha Bandhan gift and I am really proud of him. It’s such a pleasure to see your baby brother grow up.
2. Aishwarya Sakhuja-Dr.Shyam Sakhuja:
Aishwarya’s brother stays in Dubai so usually, the actor Skypes with her brother on the special day but her most memorable Rakhi was the one that she could spend with him. She said:
It was a surprise visit and he was happy to see me. The best thing about my brother is his selfless nature and unconditional acceptance of his friends and family. Honestly, my brother is my hero. I love his super helpful nature and sensitivity. His childlike innocence is also rare. He is six years older to me but he actually never bullied me. I would really like to shift him to Mumbai so that we can meet often. Initially he was my biggest enemy but gradually we have developed a strong bond in last 13 years which is so precious. He is not just my friend but also a parent, there are certain boundaries with him that I never cross because I really respect him from the bottom of my heart.
3. Ssharad Malhotra-Reema Pawa:
Ssharad and Reema’s is a filmy bhai-behen story. He gifted her a smart phone with his first pay and of course, it’s not hard to guess who Reema rang up first! He said:
Its a fantastic feeling to have a sister like her. We do argue at times but our emotional bond is very strong. I am just a phone call away. I wish I can go to Kolkata more often. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is always a family affair. This year I am planning to buy some designer jewellery for her.
4. Vahbbiz Dorabjee-Daniel Dorabjee:
Raksha Bandhan holds great significance in the Bahu Hamari Rajnikant star’s life. She thinks that having a sibling is a neccessity. Vahbbiz said:
The most memorable Raksha Bandhan was last year when my brother took me to shopping and then lunch and we spent the day together. I have such fond memories of spending time with him in my Pune home. It’s such a blessing to have a brother.
5. Gunjan Utreja-Kaveri and Gayatri
Gunjan is super attached to his younger siblings Kaveri and Gayatri. He describes his unique relationship with the two of them:
In the cookies of life, sisters are the chocolate chips. Kaveri is a pastry chef & Gayatri works in HR at a MNC. Ours is a unique relationship. They fought with my father when I decided to leave my MBA and wanted to educate myself in media. Till date every decision of our life is taken in consideration with each one of us. They are extremely talented & continue to inspire me in different ways. It probably was a competitive relationship while we were growing up; but now it’s the strongest relationship. We don’t have a habit of gifting each other on special days. We instead choose to gift the under privileged people.
6. Saurabh Pandey-Neha Pandey:
The Suryaputra Karn actor and his brother Gaurav Pandey‘s (remember Shonty, from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania) sister Neha is into fashion designing. They claim that the actor is the most awesome among the three. Saurabh said:
The most memorable Rakhi was when for the first time she tied Rakhi by her own hands when she was four years old. She stays in Delhi and my brother and I are always far away in Mumbai, so we miss celebrating Raksha Bandhan with her. Every year she sends us a rakhi through courier but this year the plan is to fly to Delhi and surprise her.
So that was our list of bhai-behen jodis on the small screen. TV actors Rashmi Desai and Mrunal Jain, who consider each other as siblings, celebrated the festival on 17th morning. The actors bonded on the sets of Uttaran and now they celebrate the festival since the last year. Check out a photo from their celebration:
How sweet!
