Shah Rukh Khan is a nice man and my favourite actor in Bollywood. He (and other actors) often invite the media over for lunch and all on special occasions. My team knows that I can go at any length to get free food, or alcohol (that’s something I won’t discuss here, I’m classy like that) so when the invite came this time around, I promptly decided that I need to step inside the gates of Mannat.

And step inside I did, fighting with the huge crowd that had gathered outside his house (you’ve seen FAN, you know how crazy it gets) I managed to get in without losing my cell phone, my car keys and my wallet, which is quite an achievement. When ushered in, there was a set up for all the journalists and photographers who had come to ask SRK questions, something that didn’t even pop in my mind. For me, it was only seeing him and eating the food.

At first, I decided to be a good girl and just wait at a far corner where nothing was visible. I was sweaty, but I was happy. Plus I was adding Snapchat filters to my face for fun.

It was fun while it lasted, but then I had to use the loo. SRK’s PR Mandvi Sharma was sweet enough to ask a bodyguard to escort me to one of the washrooms in that humongous property. While walking around, this adorable beauty was looking at me, but I couldn’t pet it because I was too shy 🙁

Just look at that dog! My God, my heart melted right there. But I had my bladder to take care of.

Clicking a selfie in one of the washrooms in Mannat. I am gross.

Anyway, I know you’re not reading this to see my face (haven’t even threaded my eyebrows since three months), but to see what food we got at Mannat. I’ll just say it was a nice ‘wedding reception’ menu and I was perfectly happy with that.

WARNING: I click very bad photos. REALLY BAD.

There was mutton –

And chicken, which had a fancy name, but basically tasted like butter chicken. Delicious butter chicken –

Paneer, because vegetarians deserve something good to eat as well –

CLEARLY, photography is not a talent I posses, but nevertheless, I had to show off the food I ate. There was kulfi too, but I was busy devouring that to click a photo.

I was looking for a place where I could eat in peace. For that selfish yet important reason, I basically kept staring at this kid, so that he’d go and I’d get to stand and eat there. (He was closest to the fan, okay!)

He was a cute child though.

Also, I was very happy to see that Lijjat Papad is indispensable in the Khan household as well.

Stars, they’re just like us.

Finally, Shah Rukh made an entry, spoke to the media about everything in the world (you can check out Team MissMalini’s Twitter timeline for his best quotes) and made me fall in love with him even more.

He also went on that famous pedestal at Mannat‘s gate to wave at his fans. From the roar I could hear outside, I knew it was a full-house on the streets of Bandra as well.

After it seemed like the crowd subsided, I had to leave, else I’d just creepily lurk around his house and he’d have to file a restraining order against me. I really didn’t want to go completely Gaurav Chandana yet.

In conclusion I just want to say thank you Shah Rukh Khan, for inviting me (and a hundred others) for lunch. You’ve basically made all the lyrics of Chaand Taare from Yes Boss into a reality and if that doesn’t give hope to people to succeed in what they’re good at, I don’t know what will.
