In 2008, Aamir Khan produced a college romance that marked the beginning of his nephew, Imran Khan‘s career in Bollywood. The film also starred Genelia D’Souza, who had already started her journey in Hindi cinema after making it big down South. But guess what? Along with Imran, the movie was all set to mark the debut of another youngster.
However, the starlet was replaced by D’Souza. And that aspiring actress was none other than the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress, Nushrat Bharucha. The pretty actress exclusively told us:
Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na was the first film that I auditioned for. Imran was being launched with that film and I have actually shot scenes. I had reached that final level. They were like, acchha she’s okay and we’re going to cast her. Half the production team was very sure of me but there was just one person who saw it differently. It happened to be the director, Abbas Tyrewala. So things didn’t fall into place. But I still remember being happy about the fact that people were liking my work enough to consider me for the lead roles.
Like they say, everything happens at the right time! 🙂
