I’ll admit, my undying love for Diljit Dosanjh is a fairly recent phenomena. I mean I spent one too many parties hogging the music section to play Proper Patola and Lak 28 Kudi Da through the night, but I think that was it. It’s only with his upcoming Bollywood debut Udta Punjab that he’s got all my attention.
Here’s why he’s my current fave:
1. He is so humble…
Each time Diljit talks about himself, he seems so oblivious to his own stardom that it’s endearing. He comes from a small village in Punjab and casually says stuff like “Main subah uthta kehke, uth mama aaj Kareena naal kaam karna hai”
2. His style game is on point…
3. Proper Patola…
Yes, this song deserves a separate point.
4. #UrbanPenduSwag
Being an “Urban Pendu” is a huge part of his swag and he makes no bones about it.
Urban Pendu mein Pendu toh main hoon, Urban thoda wannabe hai.
5. Udta Punjab…
SO EXCITED!
6. He has a heart of gold…
He’s also a philanthropist. In 2013, he launched the Saanjh Foundation that works closely with underprivileged children and helps them with self-confidence and career development.
7. THIS INTERVIEW!
I dare you to not fall in love with him after watching this.
