Prince William and Kate Middleton returned from their Bhutan trip and visited the Taj Mahal in Agra. Ever since their royal visit to India was announced, everybody thought about Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana‘s visit to India in 1992. A photo that the couple took now, has gotten everybody talking, but why?

It is where Lady Diana sat when she visited the Taj Mahal in 1992. Even though it is a simple picture, everyone knew that she was heartbroken at the time and one could see her “loneliness”. Prince Charles and Diana had planned to visit the Taj Mahal together. However, they had some differences and Lady Diana ended up visiting the site all by herself.
According to PEOPLE, after being photographed for a while, she turned her back to the photographers and sat in a spot further away. Later that year, Prince Charles and Diana announced their separation and divorced in 1996. A year after which Lady Diana passed away in a car crash on 31st August 1997.
