Pratyusha Banerjee‘s mother Soma has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis because she’s not satisfied with the investigation conducted by the police. She also marked Minister of State for (Home) Ranjit Patil, Mumbai Police Commissioner Dattatray Padsalgikar and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deven Bharti in it. In her letter, Soma has alleged that she suspects Pratyusha did not commit suicide and that she was murdered.
She elaborated that Pratyusha was successful in her professional career and was a happy, lively, strong and confident girl. Here are excerpts from the letter –
She fell prey to the hands of conman Rahul Raj Singh, who has not only cheated my daughter and is solely responsible for her death, but also cheated many innocent girls like her to the tune of lacs of rupees. Since we have recorded our statement, we have been telling the investigating officer that our daughter’s death is not a simple suicide — it is more than a suicide. We suspect that she has been murdered by Singh, but unfortunately our complaints are not being heard. Instead of investigating the matter in a serious manner, the police station (concerned) is giving a free hand to the accused to destroy evidence. My daughter’s death is being coloured and portrayed as a suicide committed by her due to depression, which is an absolutely false notion. There are many important clues and circumstantial evidence that are sufficient enough to prove that it’s not a suicide due to depression. The case should be transferred to the Mumbai crime branch for a fair investigation and to get justice for Pratyusha.
Rahul Raj Singh has said that he will soon talk about the facts regarding Pratyusha’s suicide and the allegations against him. In a statement to DNA, he said –
I am recovering from my illness. And I wish to speak with the media. Let the time come and I shall reveal everything. The last I spoke to Pratyusha, I told her that I love her.
What do you think about these allegations?
