In 2014, Rahul Mishra made the Indian fashion industry proud as he became the first Indian designer to take home an International Woolmark Prize. Designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent have been recipients of the award in the past, so to win something like this is obviously a huge deal. And Mishra wasn’t the only one. This year, Suket Dhir won Woolmark’s menswear prize and last evening, the two designers along with Nachiket Barve, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Troy Costa and Pakistan’s Omar Farooq put on a showcase using Woolmark’s Merino wool in their creations – you need to see the results…

The lightweight fabrics were transformed into each designer’s aesthetics and included surface details, different blends, added dimensions, drapes, structure and knits.
After seeing all that innovation on one runway, we can’t wait to see who takes home the prize next year – our bets are obviously on one of these designers.
