Fitoor has failed to live up to the ‘expectations’ (sorry) people had from it, and the blame game for the movie’s slow run at the box office has begun. According to a report on DNA, the director Abhishek Kapoor and the producers had a lot of creative differences while making the film. Here’s what the source close to the publication said about the differences in their vision –
Gattu wanted to do a faithful adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. He never wanted to make his film solely about the love story between Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy’s characters, Noor and Firdaus. In his screenplay, the dramatic conflict is between Tabu and Kat’s characters. The plot moved away from being about the conflict between the mother and daughter (played by Tabu and Katrina) and became a Kat-Adi love story.
They also had arguments while shooting the Pashmina song, which was not shown in the film. Abhishek was against the idea of a ‘special’ music video to be made for the song, but the producers went ahead with it.
