Rishi Kapoor is known for being super blunt and saying what’s on his mind, and recently he did that yet again when asked about Bollywood award shows. The actor, who recently picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award, went on record in an interview with DNA to say that he doesn’t believe in popular awards. He also spoke about a recent award Parineeti Chopra won.
Here’s what he said:
I couldn’t believe it when they recently gave an award to Parineeti Chopra for losing weight. Can someone please give me an award for gaining weight?
Um, ouch! It seems like he’s referring to Parineeti picking up the Style Icon Of The Year trophy at the Stardust awards, which isn’t exactly a “weight loss” award, but is quite likely linked to her major transformation in 2015.
He further went on to say that he uses “award trophies as doorstops” in his home, as film awards have become “truly tragic” and “shameless.”
He clearly doesn’t mince his words!
