This Christmas, I was gifted the Christian Louboutin – Rouge Louboutin Velvet Matte lip color. It’s their most classic shade with packaging that doubles up as a jewelry charm. The design house famous for its red-sole pumps has only recently made its foray into the beauty world. Like their shoes, their cosmetics are beautiful to look at and have been inspired by the designer’s Egyptian heritage. Hence, the lipstick charms are OTT, detailed, and umm… super expensive! But, would you expect less? They’re being termed talismans that retails for $90 a pop, they come with a lace string that you can even replace with a gold chain to wear it around your neck if it pleases you. Needless to say, if this wasn’t a gift, as a beauty blogger, I didn’t think it was very wise to pay so much for classic red lips! But, regular use of this goody has changed my mind.
While I don’t feel it’s necessary to go out and buy a bunch of luxurious, expensive, but gorgeously-packaged lipsticks… I think every girl should find that one lipstick that will change her life. You know, the kind that you can wear as an accessory, the kind that you can whip out of your bag and it instantly changes your mood. Not to mention, such a lipstick will also give you a rich color payoff! Here are 5 other lipsticks that may cost a few extra bucks, but they’re a real pleasure to look at and wear.
The TF carved on this Tom Ford lipstick bullet is just everything. The gold and black, chic packaging exudes glamour!
Doesn’t the Guerlain Kiss Kiss lipstick look like something that would belong in a sexy secret agent’s clutch?
If you like having more fun with your lipstick, look nowhere else! Anna Sui star lipsticks are bold, crazy, and add character to your vanity.
Crazy cat lady? This one’s for you. Just look at how meticulously cat faces are carved into these vibrant Paul & Joe lipsticks.
And if you’re feeling like turning on the oomph factor, Victoria’s Secret beauty will cater to you a luscious pout for less with some va-va-voom packaging!
My sin of choice may be the Louboutin lipstick and I absolutely love how the swatch feels on me. Which pretty bullet has you shot down?
