The Ramayana is one of those stories that have been told and retold over generations. Of course, the story celebrates the triumphs of Shree Ram and gives us new learnings each time we witness it. But I feel sometimes the role of Sita isn’t emphasized enough – I mean she was one amazing woman! Star Plus has a show on air called Siya Ke Ram, which is a retelling of the Ramayana, from Sita’s point of view. Inspired by it, we’ve listed down some of the things that make Sita such an inspiring character.
1. She is wise…
Even as a child, Sita never accepted anything in blind faith.
2. She knows what she wants…
Remember the time when she sees the golden deer in the jungle and knows immediately that she wants it? Precision, I say!
3. She has a heart of gold…
Her love for the nature and its beings is exemplary. Remember when she treated the wounded Ashwamedha horse immediately when she saw him?
4. She has courage…
As a kid, Sita was actually ready to enter the battlefield to fight for her kingdom Mithila! She truly is fearless.
Wanna learn more? Siya Ke Ram is going to tell the full story of how Shree Ram won Sita’s hand at a Swayamvar in a special Swayamvar Saptah starting Monday, 18th January at 8pm!
