What we love most about Kangana Ranaut is that she doesn’t mince her words, and she is okay to call something out when she feels like it’s not right. She’s been very vocal in the past, and at Barkha Dutt‘s recent book launch, she got even more candid by admitting that she was physically abused in her earlier days in the industry.
Here’s what she said, according to Indian Express:
It was a very difficult and very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go to details. I felt trapped. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches.
She went on to describe what happened:
This man who was my father’s age hit me hard on my head when I was 17. I started bleeding. I took out my sandal and hit his head hard and he started to bleed too.
Kangana also revealed that she lodged an FIR against him, but he wasn’t punished – he was just warned.
While Kangana hasn’t gone on-record to name the person, I think it’s pretty clear who she’s talking about.
