2015 has been a great year when it comes to finding new talent in the industry – a year where casting directors went beyond Bollywood connections to find their actors. And the best part? These actors did complete justice to the opportunities given to them.

1) Gurmeet Chaudhary
This TV heartthrob made a debut with the Bhatt camp’s Khamoshiyan. Even though the movie was panned by the audiences, he stood out amongst the lead actors.
2) Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi entered Bollywood with Yash Raj’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha and shook industry conventions. People accepted her for who she was and loved her powerful performance in the film.
3) Karan Johar
KJo made his debut with Bombay Velvet and was appreciated for the negative role he played. It was unexpected and refreshing.
4) Harshaali Malhotra
This little girl stole everyone’s hearts with a stellar performance in Kabir Khan‘s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
5) Shweta Tripathi
Shweta was one of the notable TV faces who made a breakthrough Bollywood debut. She starred in the critically acclaimed Masaan and received rave reviews for her performance.
6) Shivani Raghuvanshi
This Delhi girl saw her acting dreams come true when she was cast in Yash Raj’s Titli. She gave a strong performance and made her presence felt despite sharing space with a bunch of talented actors.
7) Vicky Kaushal
Kaushal had two releases this year – Masaan and Bombay Velvet. Both movies came out almost simultaneously. While BV saw a worldwide release, his performance was applauded in Masaan which opened at the Cannes International Film Festival at the same time.
8) Omkar Kapoor
Kapoor, who has a strong child artiste resume, grew up to be quite a hottie and won hearts in the second version of Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
9) Sanah Kapoor
Sanah is a not-so-conventional star kid who got noticed for her role in Shaandaar. Sanah’s vulnerable character on-screen struck a chord with the audiences and stayed with people even though the movie was something of a disappointment.
10) Shashank Arora
Arora also made his debut with Yash Raj’s Titli. He will soon be starring in B Naman – also starring Sid Mallya – which is all set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
11) Ridhima Sud
This girl chose Zoya Akhtar‘s Dil Dhadakne Do over a high-paying job at New York’s Wall Street. Even though her appearance in the movie was short, she stood out despite the star-studded ensemble cast.
12) Pavleen Gujral
Pavleen made her debut with Angry Indian Goddesses, a film in which all the actresses gave power-packed performances. She has a certain spark and screen presence that adds her to the list of the promising debuts we saw this year.
