After 10 sold-out shows in Mumbai and 28,000 smiling faces, we had to chime in… no one does it like Disney! Responsible for inventing the happiest place on Earth (aka Disneyland), they brought the timeless classic, Beauty & The Beast, to India earlier this month. First Mumbai, now Delhi… and we couldn’t wait to take our seats (at the premiere show in the capital) after hearing what these celebs had to say!
Here’s why we loved watching this performance, and recommend that you book your tickets too (before they run out!).
Live Action!
Be it the lead roles or the supporting characters, each performer played their part perfectly. You’ll find yourself inspired by Belle, frightened by the Beast, very amused by Lefou, Lumiere & Cogsworth… the show never stops.
Do The Dance
Loved how every inch of the stage came alive every few minutes, with the entire cast singing & dancing in perfect unison.
Dress The Part
The performers did. Whether you’re looking at the Beast or Lefou or Lumiere… each costume was styled and designed so well, you believe what you see.
Stage Is Set
And what a set! As the musical progresses from act to act, the set transforms from a dusty village into a grand castle within seconds!
Beauty & The Beast
Played by Meher Mistry & Edwin Joseph, the lead cast really brings this love story alive.
One For All, All For One
Never before has their been a live performance of this scale in our cities. Spotted during the premiere in Delhi were guests like Rajesh Pratap Singh, JJ Valaya, Ramola Bachan, Riddhima Sahni, Bharat Sahni and Niamat Bakshi (among several others) with their children. Designer Rajesh Pratap Singh said, “[It] was a great production and the quality was comparable to any shows outside. Thank you for the evening,” to which Riddhima Sahni added that it was a magical experience.
Clearly, when it comes to Disney, men, women & children of all ages enjoy 🙂
The show is now open at Thyagaraj Sports Complex, INA Colony, Delhi until 27th December 2015. For more details and to book your tickets, visit Book My Show.
