It’s almost the end of 2015! I can’t tell you how excited I am, and it’s not because the year is ending. If you love to dance your heart out, India is buzzing with music festival energy. Two events that I plan to go to are EDEN Art Fest, which is in Mumbai on November 14th and 15th and the other is BEVC which is at Amby Valley in Lonavala from December 18th to 2oth. It’s one place that people are given carte blanche to break out their fun, outlandish, and crazy fashion. A typical music festival outfit looks something like this: flower crown, crop top, high-waisted jean shorts and mirrored sunglasses. But why not switch it up this year? The ’70s are back in a big way for spring (and fall), so tap into those groovy vibes with platform sandals, crochet tanks and mini skirts. After all, there’s no better time to try out a trend than at a music festival.
We at BandraRoad have put together a few outfit inspirations to help you get creatively dressed – music festival approved.
The Casual Rocker
Old school rocker tees are great for music festivals. You can wear them over shorts or skirts. If you have an oversized rocker tee, you can wear it over tiny shorts with a belt to give it shape. If you don’t mind tearing off the sleeves, they make great cut-off tanks too.
Flower Power
Bring out that inner flower child at festivals by playing around with floral prints. In fact, you’re given a free pass to wear floral everywhere. Floral palazzo pants with crop tops, skirts or even maxis. You can wear flowers around your head or on your wrists. Get creative. That’s what music festivals are all about.
Sexy In All-White
An all-white look is pretty simple to put together and looks super sexy. White goes with all other colours, so use accessories and footwear to add a bit of your personality and a colour pop. White tops or crochet dresses/tops, over a bright coloured bikini, are also great ways to complete your festival white look. Ladies, if you’re beautifully dusky, white is your colour.
Fringe Is In
Bohemian dressing is so much fun. You can play with colours, tribal prints, baggy dresses, pants, and have fun with fringe. Fringe has been in style since Woodstock, and personally, I love wearing it at music festivals. You can wear a fringed top with denim shorts, or a fringe dress with boots.
If you don’t have outfits with fringe, try wearing a bag or boots with fringe on it. Either way, fringe is totally music festival approved.
Colour Me Crazy
Colours make a music festival come alive; so why not mix and match them in your look too. Dress up like a rainbow if you want to – don’t hold back on creativity and imagination when it comes to putting your look together.
Your Music Festival Must-Haves
Now that you have your outfit planned, you need to have a few essentials like a messenger bag, a leather waist pouch (so that you have your hands free to dance all night), a pair of comfortable sneakers or boots (so that your legs don’t hurt from all that dancing). Scroll through the images below so you don’t miss out on these essentials!

Comfortable sneakers are a must.
If your wearing boots then opt for a flat pair so that your feet don’t hurt with all that dancing.

Don’t forget your sunglasses.
Whether you intend to dance and enjoy the music, chill and drink, or just take in the sun, we hope our music festival looks inspire you to get party-ready. When dressing for a festival, you really have to consider comfort and weather. You NEVER, I repeat, NEVER want to turn up in heels of any kind or silly shoes like strappy sandals – or worse… CROCS. Dress comfortably and don’t go too wild – e.g. Ke$ha back in her ‘I puke glitter’ days. You’re really there for the music, so enjoy it!
