As Kangana Ranaut accompanied the models strutting their stuff down the runway in her newly-launched Marquee collection for Vero Moda, Team MissMalini was hit with a wave of major style-spiration. Her ready-to-wear line was a fresh change to all the couture designs we’ve seen so much of off-late. Don’t get me wrong, we love our luxury, but when everyday-wear can encompass everything from luxury to uber cool street-style, then we’re immediate fans. Plus, this trendy Marquee collection has the ultimate queen’s stamp of approval. While you saw it down the runway styled in one way, here’s what Team #MMLoves and how we would style key pieces as regular girls.
1) The Beauty Blogger’s Pick
As a beauty blogger, I’m more about the makeup and less about complicating my outfits. I like it easy, so I have time to concentrate on my makeup. While a classic red lip is essential to your vanity, a retro-inspired red dress is key for a complete wardrobe.
This silhouette will give anyone the illusion of a flattering waistline and it can be paired in multiple different ways. This would be my go-to dress for fancy soirees and formal evenings. I would pair it with neutral pumps, whether that’s black or nude, and one statement piece of jewelry. It could be a statement necklace or bold earrings, in fact, you could even throw on a shrug or scarf in colder weather. Oh, the things you could do.
2) The Pocket Stylist’s Pick
The Pocket Stylist, Anushka Mulchandani, has a keen eye for trend-spotting and a talent for styling simple pieces in the coolest ways. Here’s how she would wear this blue bedazzled tank.
I would wear this with high-waist trousers and the top tucked in. I would also like to add a Great Gatsby bob to the mix. That would be cute.
3) Fashion & Beauty Blogger, Natasha Patel’s Pick
Natasha Patel can’t seem to pick between her love for pretty hair and chic fashion. Here’s her choice from the collection.
I have an obsession with cape-jackets and that’s exactly why I would pair this with a plain, neutral tee, probably white. Then, I’d add a fancy cape to complete the look.
4) It’s Not Just About Team Fashion
Mallika Kulkarni, who’s amazing with excel sheets, is also a driving force behind the sales team at the MissMalini HQ. But hey, she still loves her mini-dresses, palazzos, and lots of shoes.
I would opt for this top, so I can skip the jewelry. Of course, you can add a subtle pair of bangles or earrings, to dress it up. I would wear them with skinny denims that are only slightly ripped to balance the feminine top.
5) Bollywood Weighs In
The Bollywood team’s Shreemi Verma also weighed in on what she would pick out of one of her favorite B-Town diva’s collection.
I’m really into this casual mini-dress. I would style it with sneakers or canvas shoes. If I’m feeling a little more dressy, I could add bold hand jewelry to the outfit.
Those were 5 of our favorite pieces, but the collection’s got a lot more options. Check some of them out.
