Every time we’re back from a fashion week, BandraRoad spends time decoding and fishing out looks that inspired us. Not just that, some of the outfits we see in shows represent the street in a very specific way. That’s the fun thing about street-wear. It’s not restricted to one idea. They come from various influences and can be turned into so much more. In this post, we’re showing you 5 cool street style stories that were represented in designer collections showcased at Lakmé Fashion Week winter/festive 2015!
Classic Contemporary
We saw a few, very smart designers who took classic street staples like jumpers, shirts, bomber jackets and track pants and presented them with an update. The lines were cleaner and the details were subtle but stark.

Print Propaganda
Prints and visual-heavy stories are hugely popular on the streets and on the runway. The two came together as bad-ass street-strong looks in runway collections for autumn/winter.

Deconstruction
Here’s a nice style story and one of my favorites: Kallol Datta‘s 1955, Antar Agni and Grassroots by Anita Dongre, were among a few select designers who presented looks with deconstructions but in a relaxed, non-fussy form.

Love of Layering
Because we’re talking winter-wear, we were obviously treated to street layering styles by some of the biggest emerging names in Indian fashion!

Retro Revisited
Retro themes are always a familiar place to find street inspiration, but this time we saw some old-school favourites like pop colours, paper boy styling and jarring digi-prints that come alive on the runway!
