MM & Ayushmann Khurrana
I met Ayushmann Khurrana once again and he looked AMAZING, as always. I got the chance to ask him your #21TwitterQs and he answered them all! From meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time and his mom’s cooking to his most memorable character – check it out!
Is Bollywood your love or life? – @ayushmannkijaan
Bollywood is my love for sure not my life. You need to LIVE life to be a decent actor. If you’re living in a la la land or a fantasy world or ‘I’m a Bollywood star and all that’; you won’t be a good actor for sure.
What does it take to become Ayushmann Khurrana? – @roohi_sweet
Nothing yaar, just one crooked dimple, and bushy eyebrows, probably 7/10 acting and 7/10 singing.
Who is the biggest supporter in a man’s life – his mother or his wife? – Pranajit Bose
I think both my mother and wife are my biggest supporters for sure. Unconditional love from both the sides.
Describe yourself in 3 words. – @fatmakpr
Sexy. Simple. Sweet.
What’s your favourite childhood memory? – @aishwarya_14
My favourite childhood memory was when I met Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. It was 1992, he was shooting for Maya Memsaab and we were summer vacationing in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh and I was like ‘papa, yeh toh fauji wale hain’. I said Hi and I didn’t carry a camera that time, it was in the hotel room. Yeah, so he was sweet.
Name one director you really want to work with. – @NehaAli65673446
A lot of directors, in fact, yeah. Dibakar Banerjee, Shoojit Sircar (again!), Sharad Katari (again after Dum Laga Ke Haisha), Raju Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar.
What do you prefer – boxers or briefs? – @KuebraCsr
In Bombay, boxers for sure; in Delhi, briefs.
What is your most memorable role you’ve played in a movie and why? – @SRKmylife28
I think DLKH, Prem Prakash Tewari is the most memorable role because I had to change my language and body language, both! Coming from Punjab, I had that Punjabi twang in Hindi, I had to use that khadi boli of UP, now Uttrakhand.
Had you ever given anyone piggyback rides before this?
It was a Roadies task actually. I have performed two Roadies tasks in two films – two hit films of mine – Vicky Donor and DLKH.
When is your next song releasing? – @lavinapunjabi
Very soon! Wait for two months.
Would you ever do an action, romantic South Indian remake movie? – @chidiyagiri
I want to work in a South Indian film, yaar.
Out of all the films you’ve done, which is your personal favourite? – @Rohit_Mulani
Vicky Donor has to be special because it was my first film and I could just sleepwalk that character because being a Punjabi I can speak like that. Also, DLKH because it gave me an opportunity to prove my versatility.
What is the craziest thing you’ve seen a fan do for you? – @Shubhrali
I think they propose me every day on Twitter, these girls – Shubhrali, Chanchal and Nisha. I love you, girls. I seriously find it very cute when you flirt with me. Continue flirting with me and promise me you’ll be flirting with me even when I am 60.
How would you spend your fantasy 24 hours with no travel restrictions? – @Priya
I’m happy being in Bombay. My fantasy world!
What has been the most challenging moment in your life? – Upuli Jayasinghe
I think to be an actor is quite challenging. It’s a 24×7 job. Apart from that, it would be the climax of DLKH, I was 66 kg and Bhumi (Pednekar) was 86 kg. I had to piggyback her and run for 4 days.
One Amitabh Bachchan role you would like to recreate on the silver screen? – Vinesh Prabhu
Shakti and Deewar. Shakti, in fact. And Agneepath, Hum – he’s a legend, he’s a living legend and when I got his handwritten note after DLKH. I was like ‘that’s my personal Oscar’.
How do you respond to criticism? – Pooja Mordani
Criticism is very important I think. You are surrounded by people who love you and they just praise you all the time so I think you should keep your critics close in your pockets. Listen to them, they just help you to grow in life.
A memory you want to share from your Roadies day? – Pikey
A lot of memories. In fact, that time Roadies was quite boring. It was just a journey from point A to point B – there was no bitchiness. It was just a travel show and I think the last leg of the journey was when we reached the Wagah border. We were supposed to go to Pakistan that time, but we could not go because of Visa issues or something like that. So one memory would be visiting the Taj Mahal and traveling from length and breadth of the country on the bikes. And seeing the Wagah border parade.
If you met a school teacher, what would they say about you?
I was always a teacher’s pet. They loved me and I was the co-curricular captain of the school.
Who was your first celebrity crush and why?
I still have celebrity crushes. I think everybody has a crush on Deepika. I have a man crush on Ranveer also.
How does your wife Tahira’s presence in your life make you a better man?
She was the first one to tell me you cannot be an actor. I still remember it was the parking lot of Punjab University and I confessed and she’s like we’re supposed to get married and we were like 20 that time. She’s like ‘f*ck off! You cannot be an actor. Look at yourself.’ I’m glad she challenged me otherwise I am such a laid back person, mujhse kuch nahi ho sakta (I can’t do anything).
If you could collaborate with one international music artist, who would it be and why?
I just want Coldplay to give music for my song. I’ll just say ‘Chris Martin, I’m sorry, just let me sing… in Punjabi.’
