“I have nothing to wear!” – It’s a sentence I use at least three times a week, don’t you? Whether I’m spoilt for choice or really don’t have anything new to throw on, the statement remains the same. Meanwhile, on the other end we have celebrities whose options are endless and they’re always wearing something you want. So for those days when you’re aimlessly staring into your wardrobe and cursing to the heavens about your lack of clothing, how about trying these out?
1. Start with the basics
A plain white tank could be your saviour when you just can’t figure your outfit out. Tuck it in, tie it to the side, make it a crop top or just leave it out – it’s the most versatile piece in your closet and it will never let you down.
2. Let your shoes steal all the focus
Apart from Deepika Padukone‘s – which you can totally get at home (just splatter some paint on them), her accessories are what make this outfit pop. The blue Chanel sling, metallic shoes and clear glasses – they’re all elements you can add to your outfit when you feel like it isn’t making an impact.
3. Add something unexpected
Alia Bhatt‘s outfit is extremely basic. But I’m still intrigued by it only because of her powder blue backpack. The idea is to add something unexpected to your look – whether it’s a backpack like Alia’s, or something eye-catchy like a hat or a piece that doesn’t match your outfit at all.
4. Layer up and cover up
A bomber jacket is your answer to adding some “cool” to any outfit. You could be wearing your jammies to lunch but as soon as you’ve put on that bomber, you’re bound to get all the attention.
5. Make everything match
Matchy-matchy is actually a good thing. The best part, you don’t need to buy them matching. If you have a skirt and a top in the same colour family, there’s no rule that says you can’t wear them together!
6. Find an alternative for your top
Make like Sonakshi Sinha and these other celebrities and wear your swimsuit as a top. Just think of all the possibilities!
7. Make denim your pièce de résistance
Anushka Sharma‘s outfit was basic AF until she added that denim jacket over it. Left open and looking rather shabby, the jacket is the thing that made her look!
8. Borrow from the boys
It could be jeans belted up or even their shirt, borrowing from the boys is the easiest way to revamp your wardrobe without spending any money.
9. Wear your lounge wear out
Joggers are the new IT thing to wear out. Dress them up with heels or wear them with sneakers, they’ll look fantastic no matter where you wear them.
That’s 9 days worth of outfit inspiration – which one will you try first?
