Amalfi Amici
Why hello there 🙂 So I’m back from a week (well technically 4 days) in Italy, or more precisely the Amalfi Coast and I thought I should tell you – it was AWESOME! Sadly, I had to bounce back to the bay before I could experience everything this charming little town has to offer, but since I’m part of a WhatsApp group we made for the “Amalfi Amici”, I’m still getting their daily updates! Here’s a little photo blog featuring the crew and some fun things to do, just in case you’re planning a holiday there any time soon 🙂 xoxo
1. Pizza In Napoli
Chances are you’ll fly through Naples, so if you can, try to spend a day there and eat the pizza. Lots and lots of pizza. I recommend L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele on Via Cesare Sersale. It’s insanely good, aka heaven on a crust heaven.

Later we wandered our way about the city (easily distracted by this view) and enjoyed the cool breeze after a scorching day.
We had dinner at Ristorante da Dora which was food-coma inducing (in the best way possible!) The décor is quirky and a bit cramped but the food is totally worth it. Also if you’re lucky, the head waiter will come by and play “guess the capital city” with you! He told us he had spent some time working at a restaurant in Antarctica and spent a lot of his time staring at a map of the world, hence the expertise! LOL, amazing.
2. Unwind
The drive from Napoli to the Amalfi Coast takes about an hour and a half…
But be warned, the route is brutally winding. (Especially if you’re a queasy traveler like me.) So take frequent breaks (or naps) and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the breathtaking views that come with the sheer cliffs and rugged shoreline.
OH! And don’t even think about packing your heels! Everything is either on an incline or 300 stairs to the beach. Trust me, flats will be your best friend on this trip.
4. Rent A Villa
Heena Jain (our Kitchen Butterfly) planned this one to perfection, so we had a gorgeous 8 bedroom villa on the edge of a cliff with this view!

If you’re a group of travel buddies looking to spend some quality time together, Villa Dorata is perfect. We had quite a few awesome parties there and enjoyed some chilled out pool time too! (But first #letmetakeaselfie.)
FYI, the villa even offers the services of a chef that comes by to make a delicious spread (all for just 30 Euros per head!) #Winning

3. Pretty Positano
I fell in love the moment we stepped off the bus and saw this view that looked like the cover of a magazine…
Amalfi
Positano is a village on the Amalfi Coast, in Campania and it is adorable! The whole thing is on an enclave in the hills leading down to the coast. So you pass all kinds of quaint little alleys filled with ice cream parlours, charming boutiques and restaurants galore. In fact, you can even sign up for an Italian cooking class and make a scrumptious meal for yourself!

After that you can chose to enjoy sunset (over several glasses of wine, or my new favourite, an Aperol Spritz) and make a new furry friend!
Also don’t forget to pose for that customary “group photo”!
4. The Coast, With The Most
The view of the hill peppered with little houses opposite the beach is so beautiful, you really don’t know which way to look!

The restaurant to eat at on the coast is Chez Black (and if you go, please tell Gian Franco we’re sorry for making such a racket!). After that, if you’re ready to party the night away, hop over to a club known as On The Rocks because it is quite literally, on the rocks. They have live performers on some nights and an epic DJ!
5. Jump Off A Boat
I missed this part but I’m told the boat ride for a dip in the crystal waters of the hidden coves and grottos is sensational.
6. Club Africana
Ok, we’re a little nuts that we chose to hit up this place at 2:00am one night, but the good news is that if you call them, they’ll send a car to pick you up (even at 2:00am!). The whole place looks like a giant cave and if you ask nicely the DJ will play you some hip hop too.

7. Candle Night
If you visit any time between August 1st to 4th you’ll witness the Luminaria di San Domenico, where they light close to 3,000 candles and it looks like this…

So there you have it, gorgeous na? I’ll update this blog with more pictures as they keep coming in. Leave me a comment if you’ve been here or want more #DesiGirlTraveler tips!
Psst! Thank you for all these photos, my awesome travel buddies.
