Novelist and columnist Shobhaa De wrote about having a problem with the goodness of Bajrangi Bhaijaan in a column for NDTV. Titled Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Will The Real Salman Please Stand Up, Shobhaa thought that the makers of the movie carefully picked a theme that would project Salman Khan as a larger-than-life do-gooder, incapable of telling an untruth, or hurting a fly. The theme, according to the writer was used to cover up the real life legal tangle Salman is currently into.
Her question at the end of her column is – Whatever the claims about BB being a movie that celebrates love over hate, friendship over enmity, empathy over suspicion (which it indeed does), most Salman Khan bhakts came away worrying about just one question: will his well-timed performance as an ambassador of peace and pyaar keep him out of jail?? (You can read the entire column here.)
Kabir Khan was not too pleased with Shobhaa De’s point of view.
