A runway is a place we often turn to for beauty inspiration. Usually, we tone down the look or copy only a part of it, but very rarely do we imitate a look in its entirety. However, the Versace models at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week had us reaching for our makeup bags instantly.
Featuring a formidable line-up of models, including Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Doutzen Kroes and Joan Smalls, the Versace show was all about soft, ethereal looks. Makeup whiz, Pat McGrath, had every model flaunting a shimmery green shadow on their lids. Nude lips, loose waves and a delicate flower crown completed the look.
So, how can you imitate this look? First, press an intense green shadow onto your upper lids and at the centre of your lower lids, like MAC’s Eye Shadow in ‘Humid’. As you go towards the inner corner of your eye, switch it up with a lime green shade, just like MAC’s Eye Shadow in ‘Lucky Green’. Blend the two for a seamless finish. Dot a gold shadow, such as MAC’s Eye Shadow in ‘Gorgeous Gold’, at the inner corner of both your eyes to open them up. Finish off the look with a touch of blush and a nude gloss.
Although the look has some serious concert-vibes, the earthy tones and hints of shimmer are enough to make it look elegant and beautiful. Try out this look over the weekend – the flower crowns are optional!
