There’s just something about a new season that gets me a little anxious. Don’t get me wrong, I love the monsoons, especially when I have the day off to sit cozy with a big cup of coffee and listen to The Black Keys with the sound of the rain. But, when I do have to go about my life, I hate stepping out from the comfort of my home. I mean, what do I wear??? Isn’t that every girl’s main problem in this crazy weather?
Sure, you have your monsoon essentials in place, like your cute umbrella or the wind breaker you just bought and those sturdy rubber boots you spent half your monthly salary on. But working that into your everyday look isn’t easy. How do you still manage to look street cool under the unforgiving thunderclouds? Well, BandraRoad has put together some outfit inspirations that you can use to be rain-ready and still cute. Here are a few looks to help you dress for the next big storm.
Wear colours this season. We love wearing colours in the summer, why not do the same in this rainy weather. Use your rain boots as accessories and go for brighter colours.
Shirt dresses like this, are ideal for a rainy day. They go really well with rain boots, as well as sandals or any other rain appropriate footwear. Try to avoid denim shirt dresses and opt for a fabric that you know can dry off easily.
Denim shorts are definitely my go-to casual outfit in the rains. It looks super cute when paired with bright coloured rain boots.
We all know how annoying denims can get during the Monsoons, they get wet and heavy and takes hours to dry. So why not switch it up. Replace your denims with bright coloured or printed leggings. If you’re wearing a short skirt or dress, experiment with printed stockings. They look pretty cool, especially when you’re wearing a dress and you get a slight peak of those polka dotted stockings.
Colour blocking your outfit is really not that hard. Take two or three colours that you know go really well together, it could be a dress, jacket or boots in different colours and just team them up together. The result is quiet cool. As I said earlier, use your rain boots and umbrella as accessories.
Don’t give up on your rain boots just because you have a night out with your girlfriends planned. In fact they can do justice to your favourite LBD.
Now, don’t you let a rainy weekend plague your outfit choices anymore! By finding pieces that work with your style, you can dress more appropriately for the rain.
