We were all aware that the moment Baba Ranveer Singh and Baba Arjun Kapoor come together on the IIFA stage, there are going to be fireworks and no one, NO ONE will be spared. If you thought these guys would be sweet, kind and diplomatic – please read this. Good times weren’t they? Anyway, coming back to IIFA, here are 7 hilarious quips Ranveer and Arjun made during their hosting duties that will definitely make you ROFL.
1) On the AIB Roast and Gunday
We did something which offended many people. The gig involved us and a very famous director. Many people said many things about it and FIR was also lodged against us. Politicians were angry…
We are very sorry about ‘Gunday’.
2) On Aamir Khan.
Hume maaf karna, O Aamir Khan. Hum kabhi na lenge Reema Lagoo and Farida Jalal ka naam!
This was with regards to Aamir’s reaction to the AIB Roast, calling the event ‘violent‘.
3) Their reply to the haters with a Govinda song!
Devang Patel‘s ‘meri baatein sun ke tum hasna nahi‘ (made legendary by Govinda) was paraphrased as a reply to everyone (including politicians and actors) who did not support this Roast.
4) Puns on Bollywood movies shot in Malaysia!
Arjun (Kapoor) took a jibe at the Arjun (Rampal), Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor starrer, saying:
The film should be called Destroy and not Roy.
Hey I know it’s lame but it’s quite funny. Anything more than that would have encouraged more FIRs!
5) On Bombay Velvet!
Ranbir should be named Roti in the film because his co-star Anushka was called Rosie and that makes Rosie-Roti. And they both took the Rosie-Roti away from Anurag Kashyap’s pocket.
Too soon?
6) On Bipasha Basu’s choice of movies or maybe partners.
Bipasha, why have you come ‘Alone’? Why don’t you bring any ‘Creature’ along with you?
Is this ‘creature‘ Karan Singh Grover? Maybe…maybe not!
7) And finally on Shahid Kapoor!
They didn’t spare their good friend Shahid Kapoor either, but then why would they? Doesn’t friendship give people a free pass to say shit anyway? Coming back to the point, here’s what they said about the Best Actor of the year.
Where is Emraan Hashmi. He must not be visible because he played invisible man in ‘Mr X’. And our Shahid Kapoor is ‘Mr Sab ka Ex’.
Ranveer then asked Shahid whether he will call him for his wedding, to which Shahid jokingly replied ‘No.’
It’s cool Ranveer, we won’t be invited either 🙁
