I already told you everything I loved about the Bombay Velvet Press Junket, now it’s time for a little rapid fire fun with Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor! It was so fab hanging out with these two, they were playful, funny and super friendly 🙂 And since you had sooo many things you wanted to know about them, I got right to your 21 Twitter questions – all answered here!
How did you like your hairstyle in the movie? – @zeeshahsmakeup
Ranbir: It was kind of drastic. I had to do an image change so that people don’t see me as the “urban city boy” that people usually see me as. Anushka was also a little skeptical when she saw it. Eventually, people got used to it. Once you see the film, I’m hoping you’ll get used to it. The references were Kishore Kumar, Robert De Niro. I had to look like someone from the 50s or the 60s.
What was the hardest scene for you to shoot? – Reem, Egypt
Anushka: It was shooting the songs. It was very emotional and also I had to make it look real with a certain emotion so getting the emotion at the right time was hard.
Will Ranbir Kapoor ever get into direction? -Zoya from Mombasa, Kenya
Ranbir: Yes! I aspire to direct a movie someday but the more directors I work with, the more I realise how far I am from making a good movie. Also, I don’t have a story to tell yet and the day I get that I will direct a movie.
What is the one positive and one negative thing about each other? – Preksha, Chennai/Agrima, Delhi
Ranbir: One thing I like about Anushka is that she is an amazing person – beautiful inside-outside. One thing I don’t like about Anushka is that she doesn’t shower. (jokes)
Anushka: I like the fact that he is so easy going. What I don’t like about him is that sometimes he’s too easy going.

Anushka: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Ranbir, how do you spend your free time? You love video games? What game and what’s your highest score? – Garima
Ranbir: FIFA is my favourite video game. I have this bunch of friends – Binoy and Ishan – we have a league every week so we follow it like a religion. In my free time I play a lot of video games, I play soccer, I watch a lot of movies and the best thing I like doing is that I love to vegetate and do absolutely nothing.
What was Anushka’s reaction on watching Bombay Velvet? How do you feel about watching yourself onscreen? – Sapna, Moscow
Anushka: I need to see the film a couple of times because at first I start to see all the problems and all the mistakes. I’m very critical of myself – kind of like too harsh also.
What is the difference between Ranbir of 2007 and Ranbir of 2015? – Ranjana, Delhi
Ranbir: I don’t think there is a difference. I have just grown older. But I don’t know.
On sets what do you do in that spare time? – Khushali, Ahmedabad
Ranbir: She likes to eat people’s brains. She likes to “pick” people’s brains.

Anushka: Mine is Na Kar Gussa, Behroopiya and Dhadam Dhadam.

How was it working with Anushka in the movie and how is she different from his other co-stars? – Damini Saraf
Ranbir: I think Anushka comes without the trappings of glamour and style, she’s basically a lukhi – baith jaati hai (sits down) – basically she’s chill to work with. She has no airs, she’s a soldier.
How did it feel to have KJo playing the villain?
Anushka: He’s like a villain in real life.
Ranbir: I think the role was written with him in mind. You know, that’s exactly how he is.
How does it feel to be the most desirable man on the earth? – Akshita
Ranbir: I don’t think I am that but thank you, if you think so. I believe “a handsome is what a handsome does” – I’m desirable because my work is good so I’ll take that as a compliment.
What was the hardest part to shoot in the movie? – Meghani, Sri Lanka
Anushka: The songs.
What’s that one thing you would have loved to take home from the splendid BV set?
Ranbir: I would steal the car I was driving. It was a Ford, a 1963 model and I fell in love with it and I asked the team to gift it to me and they didn’t. I asked the price and it was utterly expensive. They gave me the fake watch I was wearing.
Anushka: I think just for memory I would take a costume.
What lipstick color suits you best? – Hermine Arzumanyan
Anushka: I like pop colours, I like right shades – red, orange, peach.
Who is your Bollywood BFF?
Ranbir: Mine would be Anushka, Ayan and Karan.
Anushka: Mine is Ranbir, Arjun, Navdeep and Sudeep.
