I wasn’t with my mom yesterday. I was out of station, covering an event. Meanwhile… my Facebook and Instagram timelines were flooded with the photos of my friends with their respective mothers. So even I followed the mandatory ‘post-a-picture-with-your-mom-because-it’s-Mother’s-Day’ ritual. She simply replied with a smiley. And that’s more than enough for me because frankly, mothers don’t really need to flood our notifications with ‘likes’ and ‘comments’ on social media. They LIKE us anyway, anyhow, all the time, ALL THE TIME! Plus, they never run out of their endless supply of comments on EVERYTHING about us. Basically, in this face-paced era of instant messengers, apps and all things virtual – our mothers are the ones who help us stay REAL. Moms are the best!
