Friends! Avengers: Age Of Ultron is releasing in just 2 days and I can’t wait anymore! So to pass these 48 hours without going into Hulk mode, I decided to cast them in Bollywood, because why not? Also, due to the fact that I have a lot of free time and a lot of love for these superheros, I’ve put down two options for each hero – one for this generation and one for us ’90s kids! Check them out.
Iron Man
New Age Iron Man – Ranbir Kapoor is the first name that pops up when I think of an actor from this generation who can be savvy, cocky and brilliant, all at the same time. Ranveer Singh comes a close second, but I see him more as Flash than Iron Man and we all know that Flash belongs to a rival comic book universe!
Nostalgia Iron Man – Shah Rukh Khan. Because the terms Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist are well suited for just one man here. Also, can you think of anyone else saying the dialogues of the great RDJ apart from SRK?
Thor
New Age Thor – Hrithik Roshan, I mean hello! Norse God with bulging biceps and a beautiful face? Why would you not sign Hrithik for this role?
Nostalgia Thor – Akshay Kumar, because if there’s any man who is worthy of carrying the blessed hammer (barring Hrithik) it’s the Khiladi!
Hulk
New Age Hulk – John Abraham. The one guy who can pull off being a bespectacled doctor in one scene and a giant green monster in another!
Nostalgia Hulk – Salman Khan. Hulk is Salman, Salman is Hulk.
Captain America
New Age Captain America – Sidharth Malhotra. He has the earnest look on his face. You know the type who’d kick your ass but still look lovable doing it, it’s just there. Also that body!
Nostalgia Captain America – Aamir Khan could really pull of any role. But I think he’d do full justice to the role of the first avenger. As for his body? Please go watch Ghajini again!
Hawkeye
New Age Hawkeye – Imran Khan, because he’s fast, lithe and focused. Imran also has that deadpan sense of humour Hawkeye is excellent at. He’d be perfect!
Nostalgia Hawkeye – Saif Ali Khan, because he looks like the guy who’d shoot an arrow without looking and it would still hit its target.
Black Widow
New Age Black Widow – Priyanka Chopra, like there’s even a question about it.
Nostalgia Black Widow – Raveena Tandon. I don’t think we had many heroines who’d kick ass as an action heroine in the ’90s. But Raveena had the body, looks and the sass to play a cool role like this.
