When I heard the news that Full House was returning, I was initially skeptical because this rumour has been doing the rounds on and off for about two years or so, and it’s always been fake. But, guys, from the looks of it, IT IS REALLY HAPPENING THIS TIME! The show is returning with a sequel to Netflix, which, for those of you who don’t know, is a US-based online streaming service. We can’t officially access Netflix here in India (there are unofficial workarounds, however), but, you know… it’s the Internet. We’ll find a way.
This return was confirmed by John Stamos (he played Uncle Jesse; have mercy) on Jimmy Kimmel Live. This revival of the show is called “Fuller House” and will centre around the character of DJ (played by Candace Cameron). According to reports doing the rounds, DJ is a veterinarian who has two children, with one more on the way. But the twist? She’s recently widowed – so her sister, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and childhood best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) move in to help her. Which, if you’ll remember, was pretty much the premise of the original Full House, except it featured Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse and Uncle Joey.
And for lovers of Uncle Jesse – yes, he’ll be back in a guest role! Stamos is actually producing the show, so there’s no real doubt about that. But as for the other members of cast – the Olsen twins, Bob Saget (Danny) etc – discussions with them are still ongoing and nothing has been finalised. We can hope, though. 🙂
This is a 13-episode series, and I’m pretty excited to see what they do with it. What are your thoughts? Excited?
