1. On his phone…
I always take my battery life for granted, acha I have 1% left? ok I’ll manage!
Aaj mere paas bullet proof ghar hain gaadi hai, bangla hai, aur ab phone bhi hain!
2. About Twitter & getting #geekchic!
I love it. It is addictive! That notification comes, that blue dot and you just tend to go online. I really enjoy it because I realise there are so many people who might want to connect with you just to say “Hi” and there is a lot of positivity that emerges just from being on social media.
That’s the thing they kept insisting, everybody I met, for the first two years they all kept insisting, please come on Twitter. And I never thought it’s a waste of time, I thought it’s not for me because I’m private by nature. So I kind of restricted myself in the beginning thinking I might give too much of myself away… But I realised its totally your prerogative how much you want to give, how much you want to receive. And there’s a lot more you receive from people. It’s a nice reality to have…
3. On his fashion sense!
That’s something that you can’t take for granted anymore in our profession. I thought that’s one aspect I won’t ever have to worry about! But cut to I’m wearing matching shoes!
4. Who he’d love to get a tweet from!
If Jose Mourinho was on Twitter. Or any Chelsea footballer for that matter!
5. If he’d do a football movie.
At this point I can just look at the jokes, ah but look he looks like a football, he can be the football! That joke follows me around.
6. On “being human”.
People want to relate to you, the aspiration quality of the youth is much lesser than what it was 20 years back. Because everybody wants to feel that oneness with you. That they can sit down and talk. I think that is what makes someone like me consumer friendly and more likeable. So why should I have a high horse and sit on it and say that I’m superior and people what to be like me, they don’t, they want to be friends with me! And I should give that feeling out too.
7. On being the funny guy…
But you have to understand where you are also coming from and what you’re doing. I’m really happy that people have liked me for what I am. I’ve not had to change myself for the profession. People have been really warm and kind.
8. His favourite song.
“Very often, Uptown Funk, that’s my workout song. Dangerous by Guetta, And of course I’m loving the Badlapur soundtrack. Especially post watching the film I’m really enjoying the music. Even the title song they didn’t promote. I really find that Vishal sung that really well.”
9. The three people on his speed dial.
Kim my manager; Feroz my Man Friday and pretty much the only person who can wake me up in the morning! And my sister. 🙂
