These talented actresses make us believe absolutely anything is possible (not just physically, but mentally too) – as long as you’re willing to work for it and stay strong! Anything men can do, we can do, right? And no longer will we deny that or shy away from that. These tough chicas have broken all petty gender stereotypes and we’ve loved watching each and every one of these resilient ladies kick ass!
1) Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom
Priyanka Chopra underwent strenuous training to get into shape for her biopic – Mary Kom. This included an extremely strict workout schedule (early mornings and pushing limits) as well as a diet regimen to get her into shape. Infact, PeeCee took on REAL boxers during the shoot of the film!
2) Katrina Kaif in Bang Bang
Every stunt performed by Katrina Kaif (whether it was in the water, in the air or on land) in Bang Bang was met by the tough actress, head on! She trained hard to execute many of the action-packed sequences which took place in seven places around the entire globe. Imagine that!
3) Anushka Sharma in NH10
Anushka Sharma had to allow herself to enter another zone entirely before she began shooting for NH10. Three months prior to shooting, the actress had already begun work on herself so she could cope with the action and physical challenges that were presented during the film! And when you watch this edge-of-the-seat thriller, you’ll see EXACTLY what we mean.
4) Rani Mukerji in Mardaani
This raw, gritty film had Rani Mukerji playing the role of a bold senior inspector in Mardaani – and boy oh boy, we promise you’ll never look at Rani the same way after watching her in action in this movie! Rani wanted to know about the challenges faced by police inspectors and their lifestyles so she actually spent time with two female inspectors from crime branch to get into her character!
5) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Dhoom 2
That killer bod jisne ‘crazy kiya re’ didn’t come easy for Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2! Infact, before Aish began shooting for Dhoom 2 she followed a strict diet to get into shape for her role as Sunehri. Not only did she look smokin’ throughout the entire film, but the action sequences she was in were performed with absolute finesse – dontcha think?!
6) Kangana Ranaut in Revolver Rani
Kangana Ranaut does a flawless job at portraying a ferocious dacoit turned politician – with a comedic twist in Revolver Rani. You have to see this fierce actress handle guns in the film – she pulls the trigger without even batting an eyelid!
7) Jacqueline Fernandez in Race 2
Jacqueline Fernandez‘s poker face, sexy as hell, slightly dark look was apparently based on Angelina Jolie‘s look in Salt. The Sri Lankan bombshell trained extensively with a vietnamese trainer and also picked up the art of sword fighting to fit into her role in Race 2.
8) Madhuri Dixit in Gulaab Gang
Whilst in the US, Madhuri Dixit actually took up Taekwondo – which she believes has helped her with the action scenes in Gulaab Gang extensively! The actress also feels that her dancing skills have helped her choreograph her fight scenes in the movie. In addition to this, Madhuri trained with Shaolin Kung Fu expert Kanishka Sharma to ensure all her movements were as polished as could be. Madhuri’s deadly expressions paired with her killer fight scenes are a lethal combination!
Each one of these leading ladies is a testament to the fact that when the mind, body and soul work together – there are no limits. #StrongIsTheNewSexy
