Yet again, it was Dum Laga Ke Haisha that scored at the box office. Even in its second week, the film did more than the combined collections of newer releases Dirty Politics, Hey Bro and Badmashiyaan, which pretty much tells the tale. What is remarkable about the success of this Ayushmann Khurranna-Bhumi Pednekar film is the fact that its second week was almost same as the first week. Now this is a phenomenon that was last witnessed in case of Queen when there was practically no fall whatsoever. With very good word of mouth, the film has marked the arrival of Sharat Katariya into the Bollywood scene.
The Yash Raj production has sustained quite well which reflected in 10 crore more that came in the second week. If the weekend saw good footfalls, the weekdays were super consistent too. The film has three more weeks to make some decent moolah till Detective Byomkesh Bakshy hits the screens (on 3rd April). Currently, the film stands at just under 21 crore and the way it is going, 28-30 crore are on the cards.
Meanwhile, Dirty Politics got some collections from single screens of the interiors and stands under 7 crore after first week. Hey Bro is hovering around the 1 crore mark while Badmashiyaan is even lesser. Flops!
There is good news for Badlapur though as in its third week, the film has now managed to cross the 50 crore mark. Hit.
